Local Health Unit of Lower Alentejo, EPE

The Local Health Unit of Baixo Alentejo, EPE is a public business entity integrated into the National Health Service, created by Decree-law No. 183/2008, of September 4, which arose from a concern for the added value that effective care provision for citizens and efficient coordination between primary health care and specialized health care can bring.

The ULSBA, EPE aims to provide primary, specialized, and continuous health care to the population, specifically to beneficiaries of health subsystems or external entities that contract health care services with it, and to all citizens in general. It also ensures public health activities and the necessary means for the exercise of health authority competencies within its geographic area of coverage.
