Entre o Douro e Vouga Hospital Center, EPE

The Entre o Douro e Vouga Hospital Center, E.P.E., headquartered in Santa Maria da Feira, was established following the publication of Decree-Law No. 27/2009, of January 27, grouping the São Sebastião Hospital, E.P.E. (Santa Maria da Feira), the District Hospital of São João da Madeira, and São Miguel Hospital (Oliveira de Azeméis), effective as of February 1, 2009. The Hospital Center became responsible for providing healthcare services to a population of approximately 340,000 inhabitants residing in the municipalities of Santa Maria da Feira, Arouca, São João da Madeira, Oliveira de Azeméis, Vale de Cambra, Ovar, and Castelo de Paiva (some parishes).

With the creation of the Hospital Center, the necessary conditions were established for better coordination among the hospital units in the northern part of the District of Aveiro, improving accessibility to outpatient consultations in various specialties and facilitating the management of surgical waiting lists. Furthermore, it provided greater rationalization of the available human and material resources.

On this site, in addition to sharing aspects related to the organization and functioning of the Hospital Center, a set of information specifically aimed at users is presented, primarily regarding healthcare services provided in outpatient consultations, emergency care, and inpatient services.
