Clinical Research Center of the Local Health Unit Baixo Mondego

The Local Health Unit Baixo Mondego is part of the National Health Service (SNS) in the central region of Portugal, with an area of influence covering the municipalities of Figueira da Foz, Montemor-o-Velho, and Soure. 

The Clinical Research Center, CiC2Fs, has the mission of stimulating clinical research, strengthening scientific knowledge and the skills of its services and professionals for the benefit of the patient.

CiC2Fs is responsible for managing research activities, specifically:

• Acting as a point of contact with Investigators, Sponsors, Monitors, and Regulatory Authorities;
• Validating the feasibility and submission of new studies or clinical trials;
• Supporting Investigators and Research Teams in the development and execution of projects and/or clinical studies;
• Fostering partnerships among professionals, the academic community, industry, and patients in the field of health research and innovation;
• Promoting literacy in clinical health research.

CIC2Fs is made up of an interdisciplinary team, operating under specific rules and procedures for conducting Research and Innovation activities in accordance with the principles of Good Clinical Practices (ICH GCP), applicable legislation, and regulations.
