A AIBILI – Association for Biomedical Research and Innovation in Light and Image is a private non-profit institution dedicated to clinical and translational research and the development of new medical imaging technologies, being the only Technological Interface Center (CIT) in the healthcare sector in Portugal.
The objectives of AIBILI focus on converting basic knowledge into innovative applications that facilitate improvements in healthcare and human well-being. AIBILI stands out as a reference partner in the field of innovation and European clinical research, collaborating with academic institutions and companies, and facilitating the development and market introduction of new diagnostic tools, biomarkers, and therapeutic options.
In the field of innovation, AIBILI excels in the development of biomarkers in ophthalmology, as well as in the areas of automated image analysis and artificial intelligence applied to preventive diagnostics and personalized medicine.
AIBILI provides multidisciplinary services in the development of clinical studies, from protocol creation to execution, coordination, data development and management, results publication, market access, and safety monitoring of new technologies.
The clinical research conducted at AIBILI adheres to Good Clinical Practice (ICH-Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Guidelines), as well as all national and European recommendations and regulations. AIBILI is also ISO 9001:2015 certified for all its activities.
AIBILI is the Coordinating Center of the European Vision Institute Clinical Research Network (EVICR.net), which brings together 95 centers across 17 countries.
